JFK Library & Museum: The Words of a President

At the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, it’s impossible not to be inspired by President Kennedy’s speeches that play on loop in every room. It’s also impossible to listen to him confront the topics of the day in the early ‘60s – civil rights, the environment, freedom of the press, gender equality, science, education, foreign relations, our democracy – and not recognize the distinct difference between how these very same topics are addressed by the White House in 2018.

Today, norms are routinely violated. Language is butchered. Discourse is cheapened. But President Kennedy’s words remind us that standards should be high. Ideas should be valued and then pursued. Progress is within reach, and it’s up to us to work together to achieve it. It’s not partisan. It’s leadership.

We brought President Kennedy’s words back to life, this time with the immediacy and relevancy of a modern platform, Twitter, to inspire a new generation and show them that the words of a President count.

Social: We verified President Kennedy’s Twitter handle, the first dead President to be verified on Twitter, and launched our paid social campaign. Everyday we share quotes from President Kennedy that are relevant to current events.

Former President John F. Kennedy helped inspire a nation to land a man on the moon — but he never got the chance to tweet about it. That’s changing.
